The first VRFB Seminar 2019 was successfully held in Jeju

Standard Energy held the VRFB Seminar 2019, which is the first VRFB international seminar programmed of lectures and hands-on practices in Republic of Korea on October 21-22, 2019 at Shilla Stay Jeju. The seminar was organized by Standard Energy from Republic of Korea, Samuel De-Leon Energy from Israel and Volterion from Germany, and supported by Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Won-A Tech.

Upcoming event: International VRFB Seminar 2019 (Oct. 21-22)

Standard Energy and Shmuel De-Leon Ltd. plan to hold an international VRFB seminar providing theoretical lectures and practical user experiences using unit cell R&D test equipment coming October. The speakers who are experts in worldwide battery industry and VRFB research area will give professional lectures about the latest industry information, R&D trend and technology in the VRFB field. Also, the participants will have an opportunity to directly assemble and operate the unit cell R&D test equipment to improve understanding the VRFB and have insights for the future research.

Company relocation & business expansion

Standard Energy moved to 36, Techno 6-ro, Youseong-gu, Republic of Korea from 32-16, Techno 7-ro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, Republic of Korea. The office, factory and research center were enlarged about 2 times compared to previous location. Standard Energy will prepare business expansion, technology development for the product, and mass production to enter a large capacity battery market.

Technology transfer: non-perfluorinated membrane developed by Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT)

Standard Energy has done technology transfer of non-perfluorinated membrane developed by KRICT and the membrane is a core component for a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). The new membrane has high durability and performance under the environment of high current density. Also, when the new membrane is manufactured in mass production, the producing cost can be dramatically low. Standard Energy and KRICT have a additional plan to evaluate stability of a prototype and optimize a manufacturing process before commercializing of the new membrane.
