VIB ESS for Wind Power Generation
A 24-hour ESS that facilitates the wind power generation without curtailment.
Wind power generation can be characterized by its high variability based on changes in wind speed or a result of turbine failure. When the wind speed is high, the VIB ESS charges, and when there is no wind blowing, the VIB ESS discharges in order to move the vessel forward or fulfill the electric load demands on marine vessels.
When the power supply is greater than the grid demand, wind power generation, with its high variability is limited accordingly.
By storing the surplus of generated electricity in the VIB ESS, unlimited wind power generation is possible without any limitation.
